Measurements

Follow this simple guide to take accurate body measurements before mailing your garments for alterations. Use a soft measuring tape and measure over the undergarments you plan to wear.

Key Measurements:

  • Bust: Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of the bust, ensuring it goes straight across the back and stays parallel to the floor.  Keep the tape comfortably snug, not tight, and avoid compressing the bust.  For accuracy wear a well fitted bra that provides the shape and support you want.
  • Waist: Locate natural waistline usually just above the belly button and below the ribcage.  Wrap the tape around this point, keeping it parallel to the floor.  The tape should be snug but not tight.  For best accuracy, measure over light clothing or directly over the body.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips (usually 7-9 inches below the waist, depending on body shape).
  • In Seam: Place the measuring tape at the highest point of the inner thigh (right at the crotch).  Run the tape straight down the inside of the leg to the ankle bone (or all the way to the floor if measuring for full-length pants.)
  • Out Seam:  Place the tape at the natural waistline (where the waistband of pants normally sits).  Run the tape straight down the outside of the leg, over the hip, to the ankle bone or the desired hem length (floor, ankle, or cropped).
  • Shoulder Width: Measure from shoulder to shoulder.  Place tape at the outer edge of one shoulder bone stretch the tape across the back, just below base of neck to the same point on the opposite shoulder.
  • Arm/Sleeve Length: Place the tape at the shoulder point where a sleeve seam would begin.  Run the tape over the bent elbow.  Measure down to the wrist bone where the sleeve should end.

Record your measurements and include them when placing your order.
