Dress - Shoulder Alterations
Shoulder adjustments can be made to improve fit, comfort, and neckline positioning. Options include raising or lowering shoulders, narrowing shoulder width, and repositioning straps for a polished custom fit.
Scope & fit assessment
Shoulder alterations may help when straps slip, the neckline sits too low or gaps, shoulder seams extend beyond your natural shoulder, or the upper dress feels uneven or restrictive. The right adjustment depends on your dress and the fit you want to achieve.
Before confirming the work, we assess available seam allowance, fabric, lining, shoulder and strap construction, and any sleeves, lace, beading, or other details. We also check how the proposed change affects the neckline, armholes, bust placement, and overall balance. Lowering or widening is possible only where the fabric and construction allow.
Local & mail-in service
Local customers in Sumter can arrange a fitting so we can assess the dress on the body and discuss the desired adjustment. Bring the undergarments you plan to wear with the dress.
Mail-in customers: start with our Measurements guide and book a phone consultation to discuss fit concerns and the next steps before sending your dress. Include your measurements, fit notes, and event date. Final alteration scope is confirmed after the garment is received and assessed; return-shipping arrangements are discussed as part of the service.
Turnaround & rush requests
Standard turnaround is 7–10 business days after garment receipt. Allow additional time for shipping in both directions for mail-in orders. Rush service may be available depending on the garment, work required, and current schedule. Please confirm availability and any additional charge before relying on a rush completion date.
